Ibrahim Malik Hospital has long been a lifeline for families in Khartoum. But after years of conflict and the collapse of Sudan’s health system, access to safe and affordable healthcare has become increasingly limited, leaving countless patients with nowhere to turn.
For years, the hospital has provided free treatment to impoverished patients, even as the cost of basic medical services became unaffordable for many. Today, SAPA is working to restore Ibrahim Malik Hospital so it can once again deliver dignified, essential care to the community.
SAPA has prioritized the rehabilitation of the Emergency Center as the first phase of this effort, helping restore the hospital’s ability to receive and stabilize patients in urgent need. Next, SAPA will rehabilitate the pediatrics and obstetrics departments to expand care for children, mothers, and newborns.
Once restored, Ibrahim Malik Hospital is expected to serve up to 40,000 patients each month — bringing lifesaving care back to thousands of families across Khartoum.
SAPA is responding to the crisis by rehabilitating Ibrahim Malik Hospital so it can safely reopen and serve up to 40,000 patients each month. This includes restoring the Emergency Center first, then rebuilding pediatrics and obstetrics to protect children, pregnant women, and newborns with reliable, dignified care.

SAPA's medical teams are operating both fixed and mobile clinics that provide emergency treatment for trauma, infections, childbirth, and malnutrition. Our doctors and volunteers are ensuring that even in the most remote areas, families have access to urgent care.

To prevent outbreaks of cholera and other waterborne diseases, SAPA is chlorinating community wells, establishing safe water points, and distributing hygiene kits to displaced families.

Through SAPA’s central kitchens in Tawila, we are providing daily hot meals to newly arrived families and therapeutic feeding for malnourished children and mothers.
Each contribution helps reopen Ibrahim Malik Hospital’s emergency, pediatric, and maternal services, restoring access to lifesaving care for thousands in Khartoum.
