Ramadan: A Time for Compassion & Giving

Every day, countless Sudanese children and elderly lose their lives due to a lack of medical oxygen. Only with your help, can we provide them with the vital medical oxygen they desperately need. Your donation is urgently needed and will help keep the oxygen flowing and patients breathing.

Breathing Is Not a Luxury

In low and middle-income countries like Sudan, every year 4.2 million children suffering from severe pneumonia urgently need oxygen to survive. According to World Health Organization (WHO), improved access to oxygen has been proven effective in reducing death rates from childhood pneumonia by 35% and is also cheaper per life saved than other measures.

Access to Oxygen Reduces Childhood Deaths

Every Breath Is Dear

Sudan is one of the poorest countries in the world, with a young population and a median age of 19 years. The healthcare infrastructure is very weak, and lack of access to medical oxygen results in countless deaths among children and the elderly. But with your help in this blessed month of Ramadan, we can prevent these unnecessary deaths and give them a chance to breathe.

Give a Ramadan Gift That Will Never Be Forgotten

Our work is not done yet. Oxygen is in dire need in other remote regions of the country. There is no access to a reliable medical oxygen supply in Aldamazeen, Zalnge, and Halfa in Sudan. Currently, medical oxygen is transported by land from the capital Khartoum, which is hundreds of miles away. Due to road closures during the rainy season, months-long supply interruptions often occur. This results in significant shortages in oxygen, causing suffering and even deaths among vulnerable patients, especially children and the elderly.

SAPA’s Response

At SAPA, we’re committed to helping Sudanese children and the elderly get the medical oxygen they need. You can help us provide oxygen generators – the most economical and consistent source of oxygen in poor countries. With your help, we can serve millions of people in need, and hopefully, save many lives along the way. Let’s work together to make a real impact in Sudan and ensure that no one has to suffer due to  lack of medical oxygen.
