The Ali Fadul Memorial Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA). It commemorates the life, courage, and sacrifice of Dr. Ali Fadul, a physician, union leader, and humanitarian who embodied the values of integrity, service, and resistance.
Dr. Ali Fadul tragically lost his life on April 21, 1990, under torture while leading a doctors’ strike in Sudan. His unwavering commitment to truth, democracy, and the dignity of his people continues to inspire generations of physicians, activists, and humanitarians.
