Zakat, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, is a mandatory charitable contribution that Muslims are obliged to give based on their wealth. It is a fixed percentage (usually 2.5%) of one’s accumulated wealth and assets, excluding personal needs and debts. Sadaqah, on the other hand, is a voluntary and broader form of charitable giving in Islam. Unlike Zakat, there are no fixed rules or percentages for Sadaqah. You can donate both Zakat & Sadaqah to SAPA. Your Zakat and Sadaqah during this sacred month will directly benefit individuals and families facing challenges in Sudan.
